POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical and administrative support to ensure smooth operations at Grace Clinics of Ohio. The MA assists with patient exams, takes vital signs, and supports healthcare providers during patient visits. This role is vital in delivering quality care to underserved populations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patient Care: Take vital signs, assist with exams, and provide support during medical appointments. 

• Patient Records: Document patient information accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. 

• Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments and manage patient intake. 

• Patient Education: Educate patients on care plans, medications, and preventive health. 

• Clinic Operations: Maintain cleanliness, manage supplies, and support clinic workflow. 

• Compliance: Follow HIPAA guidelines and adhere to healthcare regulations. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma (required); Medical Assistant certification (preferred). 

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferred). 

• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and EHR systems. 

• Strong communication and patient care skills. 

As a Volunteer Medical Assistant, you’ll be essential in providing care and support to patients at a free medical clinic, helping to improve the health of underserved communities.
