EMT Volunteer Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) at Grace Clinics of Ohio provides emergency medical care and support to patients experiencing urgent health issues. The EMT responds to medical emergencies, assists healthcare providers, and helps ensure safe and efficient patient flow. This role plays a critical part in offering timely care to underserved communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patient Assessment: Assess patients’ medical conditions, take vital signs, and document findings.
- Assisting Medical Team: Assist physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in providing patient care, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and any medical interventions in the clinic’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Patient Care: Assess patient health, take vital signs, obtain basic labs (not a required skill), assist with medical procedures as directed by the healthcare provider.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program.
- Current EMT certification and state licensure.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach, especially for underserved communities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic clinic environment.
