Patient Registration Volunteer Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Patient Registration Specialist at Grace Clinics of Ohio is responsible for welcoming patients, gathering necessary personal and medical information, and ensuring accurate data entry into the clinic’s systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the clinic operates smoothly and that patients’ information is accurately recorded for efficient care and follow-up. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Check-In: Greet patients as they arrive, verify their personal information and ensure proper documentation is completed. 
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter patient information into the clinic’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including demographics and medical history.  
  • Forms and Consent: Ensure patients complete required forms, such as consent for treatment, privacy practices, and any other necessary paperwork. 
  • Appointment Scheduling: Help patients schedule follow-up appointments, answer questions about appointment availability, and ensure that patients are informed about the next steps in their care. 
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with relevant information regarding clinic services, insurance processes, and clinic policies. 
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow and up-to-date records. 
  • Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all privacy and security protocols, including HIPAA regulations. 
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any patient issues or concerns regarding registration or documentation. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
