POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Medical Scribe at Grace Clinics of Ohio is responsible for documenting patient encounters, assisting healthcare providers in maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, and ensuring that clinical information is entered into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in real-time. This role supports healthcare providers by allowing them to focus on patient care while ensuring that all documentation is thorough, accurate, and compliant with regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Real-Time Documentation: Accurately document patient histories, exam findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and other relevant medical information during patient visits.
• EHR Management: Input and update patient data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
• Assist Providers: Support healthcare providers by documenting patient interactions, allowing them to focus on patient care and decision-making.
• Chart Review: Review patient charts and ensure that all necessary documentation is complete before and after patient visits.
• Patient Interaction: Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers by helping gather initial information and ensuring all relevant details are recorded.
• Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensure all documentation adheres to clinic policies and regulatory standards, including HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.
• Other Administrative Tasks: Assist with other administrative duties, such as coordinating referrals or following up on lab results, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred but not needed)
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (preferred but not needed).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document medical information accurately.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
